Biographical Sketch

A private practitioner and social work consultant, Sam has done extensive work in Child Welfare, the treatment and prevention of family violence, leadership training and agency staff development. An experienced therapist, Sam’s practice includes counselling individuals, couples, and families with Exploring Solutions Counselling Services Agency. In addition, his practice incorporates; marriage counselling, anger management, stress reduction, conflict resolution, life transitions and divorce/separation issues. Sam has conducted several “Facilitating Treatment Groups” workshops designed to train professionals in group work with women, men, and children when they have been exposed or involved in family violence.

Sam has presented research both nationally and internationally on work regarding the impact of family violence treatment on men themselves and their families. In addition, he has also conducted workshops, co-authored manuals and provided consultations to professionals and agencies.
